World Ranking Events
The Sprint Distance race on January 10th (3rd stage), organized by AD Camacha, and the Middle Distance race on January 11th (4th stage) will be WRE for the Elite levels. The use of GPS watches will not be authorized in the Elite categories.
Elite classes
During the registration process, Elite athletes must provide their IOF World Ranking ID. All athletes in these classes must also register for the IOF Eventor.
Bib number
The use of the Portuguese Orienteering Federation (FPO) bib is mandatory for all federated athletes.
In the World Ranking Event stages, on January 10th and 11 th (stage 3 and 4) there will be bibs for elite athletes (WE and ME). It is mandatory, for these athletes, to use the official MOF 2026 bib, which will be available in the starting area along with pins. Only athletes with the bib correctly placed on their equipment will be permitted to start.
SI-Card Change
Changes to the SI-Card number must be made at the Event centre before the races, and athletes with changes that have not previously been validated at the Event Centre are not permitted to depart.
Control System
Control System will be Sport Ident. Contactless Air+ will be available on every stage. Athletes without SIAC can use a regular SICard. SIAC rent will cost 3€ (three euro) each day.
Start times
No changes allowed in start times for requests on the competition days. On youth classes (T10, M/W12) a start station will be used. For this reason, a list with defined departure times will not be generated.
Start times in Elite classes WRE
The starting times for the WE and ME categories in the WRE stages will be prepared based on the athletes' classifications in the World Ranking determined on December 31, 2025, in the respective rankings.
Race time limits
The race time limits are:

Fair Play
At the end of each course, athletes can keep their map, therefore Fair Play is requested to all participants.
Results and prizes
MOF: To determine the athlete final rankings, the three best stages of the event will be added together and the club rankings will be the sum of the four stages. Prize for the top 3 classified in all categories (first 5 athletes in the ME and WE categories) and for the 3 best clubs, for each stage. All athletes from training categories (T10 and M/W12) will receive a gift, regardless of their classification.
WRE: Prizes for the first 5 athletes in the W21E and M21E categories, in the stage 3 and stage 4.
Sport insurance
Athletes affiliated in FPO, as well as national and Portuguese resident non-affiliated athletes are covered by POF insurance.
Athletes affiliated with the Spanish Orienteering Federation (FEDO) will be covered by the insurance provided by the Spanish Federation.
Foreign participants and/or non-residents in Portugal are covered by the Portuguese Orienteering Federation’s insurance, which is €5.76 for three or more days of competition. Insurance is added to the registration fee.
Traffic Indications
No traffic closures will be in effect at any stage, so pay attention while crossing roads if necessary.
Rules
The Competition Rules are set in accordance with the FPO Competition Rules 2024. In case of any omission in the FPO regulations, the IOF regulations will be applied.
Complaints
Complaints, whether verbal or written, must be presented to the Event centre within 15 minutes after the athlete completes the respective course.
Classes
Competition: T10, M/W12, M/W14, M/W16, M/W18, M/W20, M/WE, M/W21A, M/W B, M/W35, M/W40, M/W45, M/W50, M/W55, M/W60, M/W65, M/W70, M/W75, M/W80.
Opens: White, green, yellow and red.
Beginners: T10, D/H12

Arenas
In the various arenas, athletes will have the necessary infrastructure at their disposal, such as: Secretariat, IT, WC, BabySitting, First Aid, Results and Speaker. There will be no bar service, nor the possibility of taking a shower in any of the arenas.
Children's Space
The babysitting service will be available in the 4 stages of the event. To access this service, you must be indicated on OriOasis during registration. Each child will receive a bracelet that must be filled out by their guardian. The person responsible for the child must collect the child from the babysitting service before the prize giving ceremony.
Hard floor
The organization will make hard soil available from the 9th to the 11th of January, at a symbolic price. The organization will provide classrooms for hard floors at the Camacha Secondary School (same location as the Pavilion where the quarantine will take place, 32.677366, -16.848437) from January 9th (6pm) until January 11th (10am), with a symbolic cost of €2 per night.
The request for hard ground must be made on the OriOasis platform when registering for the test.
Model Event
The training event will be in operation from January 8th to 9th, 2026, in the Poiso area, municipality of Machico. The points (official markers 15cm x 15cm) are on the ground between the 8th and 9th of January. Training event costs €6 / map printed on high quality waterproof paper.
In scale 10,000 printed with formal route 5.4km, in scale 7,500 all points free order.
Parking lots
The GPS coordinates of the parking locations and their distance from the arenas will be presented later in this document for each stage. There will be signage with arrows from the parking to the arenas and from the arenas to the start (or pre-start). It is important to follow the instructions provided by the Organization for parking or driving purposes.
